About Dr. Yuji
Aloha! My name is Dr. Yuji Kim. I am a clinical psychologist working under the supervision of Dr. Maya. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and completed my predoctoral and post-doctoral training at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. I specialize in the diagnostic assessment of autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions (e.g., developmental delays, ADHD, intellectual disability, specific learning disorders) for children, adolescents, and adults. I also provide a range of therapeutic/intervention services, including caregiver coaching for behavior management (e.g., RUBI, PCIT), early social communication skills coaching (i.e., Project Impact), cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for mood and anxiety concerns, and trauma-focused therapy (e.g., TF-CBT).
Given the unique needs of every individual, I believe in a collaborative, family/client-centered approach to my clinical work. In addition to utilizing research-supported tools and strategies, I strive to approach my clinical work with compassion, respect for all identities and backgrounds, cultural humility, and empowerment for all individuals and families.
My application for licensure from the Hawaii Board of Psychology is being processed and therefore I am working under the supervision of Dr. Maya to provide client services at this time.
